Meet Our Team Member: Joelle Stahlecker

Here at Maple Ridge Farms, we love taking the time to get to know our distributors better. We feel that our relationships with them set us apart and help us to provide the best service we possibly can. As part of our ongoing series, here is a look at another member of the Maple Ridge Farms team!

Name:  Joelle Stahlecker

Department: Marketing

Years of Service: 15 plus!

Your Time on the "Farm"...

What brought you to MRF, and what were you doing before coming to MRF?

Family brought me to Maple Ridge Farms. I started working at Maple Ridge Farms when I was sixteen years old working in production packaging. At 18, I started working in the office in order entry as I went to college part-time. Year after year I advanced in my career and my education, and now I assist Tom Riordan with our marketing department.

What is your role on the MRF Team? How do you typically spend your day?

My role at Maple Ridge Farms is to create, implement, and track marketing programs, ads and emails.  I spend my day creating marketing materials as well as keeping organized and tracking how each of these programs, ads and emails are doing. In November, when my work is mostly completed for the year, I am a floater!  I help out where they need me.  One morning it might be assisting customer service and then that afternoon I may be assisting our order entry department.

What part of your job do you most look forward to?

I really enjoy catalog preparation--working with Tom on catalog layout, cover ideas, product options and all the important details about each product. I just really enjoy seeing this project all the way through, right into our customers' hands.

What is the strangest request you have seen since joining the MRF team?

Everyone always asks if we really work on a farm.  I always get a good chuckle from this one!

What is your favorite MRF item?

I would have to say my favorite Maple Ridge Farms delicacy is our Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels!

What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?

I am currently working towards my CAS.  I have completed quite a few classes in the industry, as well as out-of-industry seminars.  So far,  my favorite class has been the Dale Carnegie class.

What do you feel sets MRF apart in the industry?

Maple Ridge Farms is a small company, located in a small town.  So there are a lot of family and friends working together.  I think that the close-knit community that we have here at Maple Ridge Farms helps us work harder and smarter, while still having fun  producing delicious gourmet food gifts for the end user.

On the Ligher Side...

What do you do in your spare time?

I guess I am not sure what spare time is right now!  I have two beautiful little girls under the age of two. My spare time consists of spending quality time with my children, husband and close friends as well as reading, biking and fishing.

What are you proudest of in your personal life?

Some of my proudest moments are graduating from UW-Stevens Point, my marriage to my handsome husband and the birth of my two beautiful children.  I am also proud of myself for checking off backpacking in Europe with my husband from my bucket list.  The last thing I would have to say is every year after we complete the catalog and after we receive our first copy, I am pretty darn proud of myself, Tom and everyone else who assisted in the creation!

If you could have a drink with anyone (fictional, real, dead, alive, famous, non-famous) who would it be?

My Grandpa Lemmer, as I never met him; he passed away before I was born.  I have just heard such wonderful stories about him, and he raised my mother who is truly an amazing woman, along with eleven other children and many foster children, so I can only imagine what he was like.

What is your ideal vacation?

My ideal vacation would be to go back to Europe and then end up on a beach for a few days to end my vacation!

What is your favorite quote or saying?

Inspire Me!

What three words best describe you?

Responsible, Organized, Smiley

If you were stranded on an island with one book, 1 movie, and 1 CD what would they be?

Book: The Bible
CD: I would need to make a “mixed tape” of 80’s, Hip Hop, Oldies and Classical
Movie: Under the Tuscan Sun
