The Early Bird Gets the Order

The Situation: As of the writing of this post, a distributor client is trying to entice a customer who previously purchased hams as a holiday gift from another company to purchase them from Maple Ridge Farms.

The Challenge: Our ham – let’s say it’s the Spiral-Sliced Whole Ham for discussion purposes – costs more. That’s because our ham features a black walnut and maple cutting board firebranded with a logo/message. Our distributor explained that if we omit the cutting board from the gift, the cost of our ham would be comparable to that other company’s ham. But removing the keepsake takes away from the gift in a long-lasting, significant way!

The Solution: When Multiline rep Alan Christopher and Maple Ridge Farms’ National Sales Manager Tony Guerra talked about this program, they realized there is a simple solution. If the buyer places the order by October 14, the deadline for Maple Ridge Farms’ 10% Off Early Bird Discount, the cost of our ham is comparable to the cost of the other company’s ham.

Even better, of course, is the fact that our gift will generate more of a splash with recipients because of the cutting board. (We aren’t trying to brag; we know this from experience.)
